Port Townsend Community Center will be the site for a juried arts & crafts fair on Friday, November 24th, and Saturday, November 25th. The 27th Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair displays fine quality handmade year round craftwork from Northwest artists. The hours of the fair are 10am to 5pm both days. The Port Townsend Community Center is located at Lawrence and Tyler Streets in the Uptown district and the fair is occupying two floors. In addition to the artwork, local student musicians will be performing downstairs in the gym along with many more crafts.
This fine quality show is staged by the Port Townsend Arts Guild, a self-supporting non-profit arts guild offering arts scholarships to Jefferson County students majoring in the arts. The artists donate a portion of each sale to the Jefferson County Food Bank, as they have done for the past twenty five years. In 2015, $2600 was raised for the local Food Bank. Find favorite peninsula artists as well as artists from Tacoma, Seattle, surrounding cities, and Portland, Oregon.
Featured will be handwoven rugs and clothing, gold and silver jewelry set with semi-precious gems, leather belts, purses, photography, sculptural jewelry, etched glass art, Damascus steel kitchen and hunting knives, turned pens stoneware and porcelain pottery, enameled art jewelry, icons, a variety of woodwork, including carvings, boxes, and cutting boards, painted silk scarves, nuno felted scarves, capes and clothing, handknit items from alpaca wool, fleece clothing, baskets made from seaweed, 4H kitty toys, sweaters, watercolors, lampworked beads and paperweights, vintage style aprons, handbound leather journals, pine needle baskets, mosaic and fused glass sculptural work, painted floorcloths, oil paintings, David Michael s harp music and CD's, and more in a wide range of prices.
